Mission Statement

The Mission of the Crestwood High School Library is to develop inquiry-based learning opportunities, develop students' ability to access and evaluate information and empower students to communicate their knowledge to others while supporting the educational goals and objectives of Crestwood High School. 

Hours and Information

Visitors must sign-in at the circulation desk at all times. A signed planner is required of each student coming to the library during regular class periods and lunch. Permission to leave the library during class time must be obtained from the librarian. Students must have a school I.D. to use a computer. Stop at the Circulation Desk to "check out a workstation." Printouts may be picked up at the Circulation Desk. There is a $1 fee per page for color printing unless you have prior teacher approval. 

Circulation: Student ID required to checkout resources. All regular library books (those not on overnight or 7-day reserved) may be checked out for three weeks and may be renewed. Late fines are 10 cents each school day up to a $5.00 maximum per item. Magazines may be checked out for two days and may be renewed. Magazine late fines are 50 cents each school day. Audio-visual equipment may be checked out overnight with special permission. Each person will be personally responsible for the return, in good condition, of all materials checked out to him/her.

Resources: Staff available at all times to answer questions, help explore interests, and develop ideas.

Print: Fiction, Non-fiction, Reference, Special Reference, Biography, Careers, Magazines, Professional, Local and National Newspapers, Yearbooks.

Electronic: Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), Microsoft Office, Subscription Databases, Internet access, videos, CD Roms.

Equipment: TV/VCR/DVD, Computers, Printers, Cassette recorders, Opaque projector, Camcorders/Tripods, Digital Camera, CD Player, Record Players, LCD Projector, Slide Projector, Poster Printer, Copy Machine, Laminator, Paper Cutter, Typewriter, Grading Machine, Earphones.

Supplies: Poster Board, Pens, Pencils, CDs, Note Cards, VHS Tapes, Blank DVDs, Tissue, Folders, Notebooks, Highlighters.
