Why can't I install software on my classroom
computer?
All software installed on district owned computers must be properly
licensed and owned by the district. The district might be subject to fines
if this law is not followed. In addition, some software available for free on the
internet may not be a good match for our network resources. You must
contact Technology Services with installation requests by filling out and
submitting a Technology Repair Work Order with
Software Request as the Problem Type.
You may be asked to provide licensing and purchase information when
appropriate.
All district software purchases must be approved by Joanne Walega.
Why is my inkjet printer spitting out pages and pages of nonsense?
This might be because you sent a job to the printer when it was turned
off or turned the printer off during a job to prevent it from printing.
Click on the Start Menu, then on Settings, then Printers
and Faxes. Double click on the icon for your printer. A new window should
open showing you the print job that is printing. Click on Printer in the
menu bar and choose Cancel All Documents. Then go to the printer, turn it
off using the power button. Find the power cord for the printer and unplug
it from either the wall or the back of the printer. Give it a few seconds
then plug it back in and turn the printer on. Restart your computer.
If your printer is still giving you problems after trying the above,
fill out and submit a Technology Repair Work Order.
My inkjet printer will not print a document unless I first restart my
computer, why?
If this is your only symptom, your printer is probably paused.
Click on the Start Menu, then on Settings, then Printers and Faxes.
Double click on the icon for your printer. A new window should open
showing you the print job that should be printing. Click on 'Printer' in
the menu bar and remove the check for 'Pause Printing' by clicking on it.
If the problem persists, fill out and submit a
Technology Repair Work Order.
