National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, 2026. The Michigan Department of Education’s (MDE) Office of Educator Excellence wishes to celebrate teachers across Michigan for the entire month of May.

MDE invites parents/guardians to submit 15-30 second videos of their students recognizing and thanking a specific teacher for their impact. Cell phones easily capture the videos. Crestwood School District is partnering with the Michigan State Police VIP Program to host a free fingerprinting event on March 17 from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM for students and community members with special needs (age 2 and up). This program helps law enforcement quickly identify individuals if they become lost.

A colorful flyer titled “SUMMER DISCOVERY 2026 – A Summer of Learning, Fitness and Fun!” featuring the HYPE 25th Anniversary logo. It promotes a Summer Adventure Academy for children in grades 1–10, a 5-week summer enrichment program with indoor and outdoor activities held at Crestwood High School. The program runs Monday–Thursday (some weeks vary) from 8:30 AM–4:30 PM and is free for all children in Crestwood Schools.
