Wellness Policy

A local school wellness policy is a written document that guides a local educational agency (LEA) or school district’s efforts to create supportive school nutrition and physical activity environments.

Crestwood School District has established a Wellness Policy leadership of one or more school officials who have the authority and responsibility to ensure each school complies with the Wellness Policy. The general public and the school community are allowed and encouraged to participate in the Wellness Policy process. This may include parents, students, representatives of the School Food Authority, teachers, school health professionals, School Board and school administrators.

The Wellness Committee welcomes any community member who would like to be a part of the committee and assist with the development, implementation, and periodic review and update of the wellness policy. If interested, please contact Ms. Saeed at 313-274-3718.

Required documentation such as the most recent assessment and the board approved wellness policy will be maintained at the Crestwood School District Board of Education Office and building offices.
