On Monday, January 12, Axiom, French, and Ehresman Architects shared an update on the 2024 Bond projects and the progress being made across the district. Elementary playgrounds are scheduled for completion by August 2026. At Highview, work on the cafeteria and classrooms is well underway, with classroom flooring completed over winter break. The work is progressing on schedule with the project completion at the end of July.
Hillcrest continues to make strong progress, with cafeteria and classroom foundations nearing completion, electrical work and ductwork moving forward, and classroom flooring completed, despite a slight delay caused by a water main issue. Although there have been delays on the exterior, interior work has been progressing and the project is still on schedule to be completed by the end of July.
At Kinloch, the cafeteria foundation is complete, exterior brickwork is nearly finished, interior work is set to begin soon, while classroom construction is progressing with the roof expected by the end of the month and flooring completed over the break. Riverside Middle School plans are also moving ahead, with construction documents being finalized and bids scheduled for March, a summer 2026 start, and completion anticipated in 2027, along with parking lot construction planned for summer 2026.
At Crestwood High School, design work for the Field House, additional classrooms, and theatre addition will begin in March, with construction scheduled from June 2027 through December 2028. Improvements to the CHS ball fields, practice fields, and parking lot will be bid in February, awarded in March, and completed between September 2026 and June 2027. Additional CHS renovations will enter the design phase this spring, with work taking place over the summers of 2027, 2028, and 2029 and final completion in November 2029. Plans for the District transportation building will be completed by late March, with construction beginning in early summer, while the Early Childhood Center parking lot will be repaired this summer and finished by August 2026. Elementary school furniture is currently out to bid, with delivery expected later this summer in time for the start of the school year.
